Husband kills wife over suspected affair

A 35-year old woman was strangulated to death by her husband as he suspected her of having an affair. The couple have two children and resided in South Delhi's Kotla Mubarakpur.

The husband, Taiyyab, was later nabbed from Noida.

According to the police, Shabnam had constant fights with her husband as he suspected her of having an illicit relationship. Taiyyab had recently returned from Saudi Arabia where he had gone for some work.

Police officials stated that on the day of the incident on Friday the couple again had an argument.

The other tenants informed the landlord who then reached their house in order to speak to them. As he entered the house he saw that the door was open. He peeped inside and saw Shabnam lying on the bed. The children were out of the house when the crime took place.                     

"The deceased has been identified as Shabnam, wife of Taiyyab. She is survived by two children. An investigation into the case reveals that the accused had returned to the city recently from Saudi Arabia. The couple had since been fighting over infidelity issues," said a police officer.

A case of murder was registered at Kotla Mubarakpur police station. Further investigations are underway.
