A 34-year-old man committed suicide by hanging himself and has left a 17-page suicide note. The man has alleged his in-laws for forcing him to take extreme step. The resident of outer Delhi's Mianwali Nagar area has mentioned in his note that his wife left him along with their only child to stay with her parents. 

Later his in-laws started torturing him to come and live with them. The deceased recorded the entire incident on his phone wherein he can he seen hanging himself from the ceiling fan, a senior police officer said.

According to the police, the deceased has been identified as identified as Gaurav Goyal, who committed suicide on October 31 at his residence.

In a 17-page-suicide note, Goyal accused his in-laws of torturing him. He alleged his in-laws of pressuring him to stay with then and also keeping him away from his son (8), police said.

In another message for his family members, wife and eight-year-old son, he asked his brother to take care of his parents since they won't be able to cope up with the loss, the officer added.

In his suicide note, Goyal also mentioned about the efforts taken by him to reconcile with his wife. He even went to his in-laws residence and tried to convince his wife to return home. However, she refused to return. He even accused his in-laws of not allowing his son to stay with him following which he had also filed a complaint at Mianwali police station on October 3.

The note also stated that that the custody of his eight-year-old child should be given to his parents and also termed his suicide a "murder" in the note.

On October 31, police received information regarding the alleged incident. After reaching the spot, police found Goyal was found hanging, said a senior police official.

Goyal got married on April 29, 2009. and soon after the marriage, his father-in-law, mother-in-law and my brother-in-law, who liked to flaunt himself as Uttam Nagar's don started torturing me.

"On July 30, his wife left his house after taking cash and jewellery and started staying with her parents, he wrote in the note.

"She also asked me to hand over our eight-year-old son to her or else she will ask her brother to deal with the situation. Later on August 1, they filed a false case against me at Vikaspuri police station," the letter added.

On September 24, Goyal went to his wife's parents' residence in Vikaspuri with his son for sorting the situation.

"They were forcing my son to leave me but when he did not accept it, they told me to bring him back the next day. When I did not go to them the next day, they kidnapped my son on September 30," the letter said.

"The deceased wrote in the letter that he loved his wife and son but also alleged mental torture by by his in-laws," said senior police officer.

Police said after they were informed about the incident, an inquest proceedings were initiated. However, no case has been registered so far.
