Heart patient dies of shock as speeding car hits ambulance

A heart patient died of shock as the ambulance he was being taken to the hospital in was hit by a speeding car in Central Delhi’s Delhi Gate area in the intervening night on Tuesday.

The accused car driver identified as Mehfuz Alam (27) was arrested by the police. The heart patient identified as Maha Singh was being taken to nearby GB Pant hospital in the ambulance when the accident took place.

The car driver who was coming from the ITO side rammed the ambulance. Due to the impact, the ambulance wobbled and Singh died in a state of shock. The incident occurred around 1 am and he was being accompanied by his brother and nephew in the ambulance.

The duo also sustained minor injuries but were discharged after preliminary treatment.    Singh who hails from Sonepat suffered severe chest pain and hence was rushed to the Delhi along with his family members. It was tragic as they were close to the hospital.
