Gurugram police impart lessons in cyber safety

As many as 100 participants from different colleges have enrolled themselves in the internship programme.

The sixth Gurugram Police summer internship, which was inaugurated on June 18 and that will continue for 21 days, aims to promote cyber safety and generate increased awareness among citizens on cyber laws, AI, IOT, forensics, cyber safety, and blockchain. As many as 100 participants from different colleges have enrolled themselves in the internship programme.

Through the course of the programme, the Gurugram police hope to guide them to the path of effective and lawful use of technology. Moreover, they also hope that with the help of this platform, the students will be able to realise their potential in the vast field of technology. They also aim at creating law-abiding netizens among all youth and adult population of the country.

A BTech student from Dehradun, Saloni Pasrija told DNA that the internship on cyber safety organised by the Gurugram Police offers students an opportunity to put to work the aspects of the theory which they learn in classes.

Anushka Sharma, a student of Delhi Technological University, said that the internship presented opportunities which are extremely valuable for the amount of learning which they bring with it. She said that the visit to the Cyber Crime Police Station offered a first-hand experience of the way the Cyber Crime Police Station functions and addresses issues.

According to Pahul Singh, who is pursuing software engineering, the internship enabled him to gain greater insight into the field of cybersecurity. The BTech student added that the experts in the field briefed them about the future job prospects in the field. A BTech student from Dehradun, Utsav Goel commented that the internship offered him the opportunity to learn more about the problems the police face. 

Moreover, the industry experts gave valuable details about the cyber safety, according to him.
