The Delhi government on Monday directed its officials to submit a weekly report updating the status of pending projects and the progress made during the week. The report has to be submitted every Monday.

“It is hereby directed, under rule 17 of the Transaction of Business Government of NCT Delhi Rules-1993 (TBR), that the administrative secretary concerned shall submit a statement indicating the current status of important proposals or matters related to his or her department, the progress made during every week, the expected timeline by which the same will be achieved, and also the constraints and coordination that may be required,” the government order stated.

In the case of long-term projects, the government has decided to break them up into smaller projects. “The statement will be submitted every Monday by 5pm. A copy of the same will be submitted to Lieutenant Governor (LG) and the Chief Minister (CM),” a senior government official said.

Meanwhile, newly-appointed LG Anil Baijal on Monday exhorted the Delhi government officials to come up with innovative ideas and ensure timely delivery of services to people. He also asked the officials to make the city green and clean.

Baijal was chairing his first meeting with the Principal Secretaries, Secretaries and Heads of Departments of the Delhi government.
