Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath appointed committee, which looks in to the grievances of homebuyers, met the builders and buyers of different housing societies on Wednesday.

The committee is headed by Suresh Khanna, state Minister of Urban Development, is on two days visit to the twin cities of Noida and Greater Noida. It held a meeting with officers and buyers to understand the real problem that is causing delay in possession.

KK Kaushal, a buyer said they have been on hunger strike for 20 days. He said, "We have submitted our demands to the committee and they noted it down. They have assured us that they would extend all support to ensure that the builder gives possession to each buyer. Though the minister assured that they are with us but we will continue our strike till we are not given a definite possession deadline."

Pramod Kumar, a buyer from Jaypee Wishtown, said, "As the company has declared itself bankrupt, How are we going to get our flats? Where is our life time saving heading towards. We need our flats. Jaypee has duped thousands of homebuyers and have no answer to our flats. We are ready to file FIR against Jaypee Infra if the panel asks us to but we need a solution,"

"The government formed committee has given us assurance that it will initiate action against the builder within 24 hours to ensure that maximum problems are resolved. Now we are returning with expectation that they will keep the words given to all buyers in the meeting."

Noida Extension Flats Owners Main Association (NEFOMA), a group of home-buyers from several housing projects being developed by different builders has given a memorandum of demands to the committee. Annu Khan, president of the association said, "We have suggested that a meeting of authority, builder and banks should be called to inquiry about where all the money went when maximum payments against booked incomplete housing projects have been deposited with builders of different companies. It would be quick solution to the problems as most of the builders have been claiming that they don't have fund to complete the remaining development of the housing societies."

Buyers also raised anti- government slogans and reminded them that 2019 elections are not far.

The ministers will be holding a press conference coming out with an action plan for the buyers after meeting the builders also on Thursday.
