A girl, who was rescued from brothel number 68 at GB Road (Shradhanand Marg), got married to her lover on Wednesday in an Aarya Samaj temple in the presence of Boy's family. With continuous efforts of the boy and the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW), that the girl was rescued from the brothel.

For about two years, the boy used to visit the girl in the brothel. It was when the boy contacted the DCW, an operation was started by Delhi Police and an NGO, after which the girl was successfully rescued from the area. "The couple is very thrilled on getting married. The girl is happy of getting out of the prostitution business and starting a new life with the one she loves," said an official from DCW.

"GB Road is a hell and a huge stigma to Delhi. I am very appreciative of the couple for taking such a bold step," said DCW chairperson Swati Maliwal. She also praised the boy saying that 'you will find a lot of people who'd talk about women empowerment, but very few wouldactually take steps towards it.
