Sharma is contesting election on Congress ticket from Sahibabad constituency in the upcoming Assembly polls.

"We had organised a joint raid in offices of BSP, BJP, SP and Congress but the liquor was found in a large quantity from Amarpal Sharma's office only. We are carrying out an investigation against him. We are keeping a strict vigil on any kind of illegalities during the elections," said Salman Taj, SP (City), Ghaziabad.

"We have registered an FIR, even though it's a bailable offence and he will receive a notice for the same." Taj said.

Amarpal Sharma said, "They have not found liquor from my office but a room adjacent to my office and have blamed me for that. They sized the liquor from there and blamed me for it."
