Ghaziabad: Missing boy's body found in Murad Nagar

According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Priyanshu Kumar, a resident of Modi Nagar, who had not returned home on Thursday evening.

A 14-year-old boy, who had gone missing on Thursday from Modi Nagar, was found dead in Murad Nagar area of Ghaziabad on Friday. Family members have named five minors in the FIR for allegedly murdering the juvenile.

According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Priyanshu Kumar, a resident of Modi Nagar, who had not returned home on Thursday evening.

According to the family of the deceased, on Tuesday morning, five juveniles of the area had come to their house looking to beat Kumar.

"Five of them came to our house at around 12.30pm and they were carrying sticks, bat, chains and were looking to beat my son. However, we interrupted and stopped them. On asking they revealed that Kumar had slapped one of them for abusing him. We then sent them back," said Naresh Kumar, the deceased's father.

Naresh further stated that his son had gone to play at around 5 pm and didn't return in the evening.

"The same five juveniles again came to our house along with a lady and threatened to kill my son. After a heated argument, they went back. However, by 8 when my son did not return home, we started looking for him everywhere but he couldn't be found," said Naresh.

A missing complaint was filed at Modi Nagar Police station.

"On Friday morning, a body of a child was recovered from a field in Murad Nagar and was later identified as that of Kumar. The body was sent for post-mortem," said AK Maurya, Superintendent of Police (rural).

Police are cross verifying the claims made by the family members against the five minors.
