The Ghaziabad police have arrested four persons, including two minor, in connection with the alleged murder of a Khoda-based businessman inside his house earlier in the month, from Khoda area on Tuesday night. The accused eliminated the businessman as he suspected them of committing a robbery in his house.

According to the police, the accused have been identified as Rahul Rotella and Bobby, who along with three others stabbed Deepak Goyal to death inside his house on the intervening night of August 10 and August 11.

"We had received a police control room call on the night of August 10 about a murder. Following which, a case under section 302 of the IPC was registered at Khoda police station. Teams were formed to nab the accused," said Vaibhav Krishan, senior superintendent of police (Ghaziabad).

The police said on Tuesday night that they got an information about four suspects trying to flee the city, following which teams were formed and four accused, including the two minors were nabbed.

"During the interrogation, the accused revealed that they were known to the deceased and had committed a robbery of Rs 2 lakh in his house. However, no complaint was filed in that case, but he always suspected them and kept an eye on their movements. Following which they planned to execute the murder," Krishan said.

On August 10, the five entered Goyal's house in order to commit another robbery and eliminate him as they feared that he could complain to police about them.

"They entered the house with a help of a ladder. On hearing the noise, Goyal woke up. The two parties had a scuffle and later Rahul and Gaurav, who is on the run, stabbed him in his neck and fled the spot," Krishan said.
