Last year, Gurugram witnessed a massive traffic problem due to waterlogging resulting in long traffic snarls. The administration was highly criticised for it then, but this year it seems to be no better.
Heavy showers on Friday saw waterlogged roads slow down the pace of traffic at various parts in the city. As a result, commuters coming from Delhi had a great difficulty in reaching their respective workplaces.
"It happens here every year. We were stuck in long traffic jams because of the waterlogging," said Rakesh Yadav.

Many people blamed the planning and design of the Millennium City which they said has stopped the water from draining away.
"The city has become a mess and there is no planning in the construction. Nothing has changed by changing its name. It is still Gurujam for us," said Parth Taneja, who works for a software company.
Even the employees of Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA), a body responsible for planning and development of the urban area, struggled to get into their office in sector 14 area. Knee-deep water in the parking area of the planning body's office was indeed an irony.
On Thursday, the waterlogging problem did not even spare the Chief Minister Manoharlal Khattar. His convoy was stuck in traffic for a while, despite preparations made by the police authorities.
The MCG (Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon) has set up a control room in Sector 34 to deal with waterlogging and traffic issue while the Chief Minister has promised to widen the Badshahpur drain by 10 metres, which will lessen the waterlogging problem in the city.
