A 14-year-old girl, suffering from epilepsy, was allegedly gang-raped at knifepoint by five minor boys near her house at a village adjoining Sector-51 Noida.

The accused juveniles were later produced before a Juvenile Justice Board and sent for counselling.

According to her neighbours and other people in the locality, the victim rarely socialised due to her problem of seizures. She has now completely confined herself to the family's small one-room house, while the minor's family is aghast.

The minor girl, who is traumatised and in constant fear, narrated her ordeal to DNA. "Around 7 pm, I had gone to a shop to buy some groceries. While I was returning home, five boys from our neighbourhood surrounded me and pointed a knife at me. They then took me to a deserted plot, where there is a shed to keep cattle."

The girl said the accused slapped and threatened to kill her if she raised an alarm.

"They pushed me inside an abandoned washroom, where one of them raped me while another held a knife on my neck. One boy was video-graphing me while the other two were outside the washroom and kept a watch on people coming towards the plot," she added.

The victim was let off when the two minors standing outside alerted the other of someone approaching the plot. They threatened her against reporting the matter to anyone. She was told that the film would be forwarded to everyone in the village if she dared talk about the incident.

The girl later rushed to her house in fear and narrated the incident to her mother.

"She came home crying with her head down and didn't even have her dupatta on her shoulder. When I asked her what happened, she narrated the incident. I informed my neighbours and went to the main accused's house where his mother started threatening me that they would kick us out of the village if we approached the police against her son," said the victim's mother.

Though the incident took place on March 5, it came to light on Wednesday morning after the police registered a case upon a complaint from the girl's father, a tailor. He was in two minds about filing the report and it was the constant threats by the accused's family that led him to approach the police.

"I was in continuous fear of my daughter's status in society so I was afraid to approach the police, keeping her marriage in mind. But the continuous threats by the accused's families made me approach the police," said victim's father.

On the basis of the complaint, the four boys were taken into custody. During questioning, they reportedly admitted to the crime. The video was also recovered from one of their phones.

"After receiving the complaint, all five boys were taken into custody for questioning and a case of gang-rape was registered on the girl's complaint," said Bijendra Singh Bhadana, Station House Officer, Sector 49 police station.

He also said the girl has identified her assaulter.

During questioning, the accused told the police that they made the video so that they could use it to threaten the girl. Police produced all accused before the Juvenile Justice Board on Thursday.

The boys are high-school dropouts aged 15, 16, 16, 17 and 17. The girl dropped out of school last year because of her seizures.
