A Facebook video of two boys fighting inside a Noida gym, shared a few days ago, triggered violent vandalism in Gurugram's Begumpur Khatola village on Wednesday. As many as six people have been arrested regarding the matter.

According to the police, the viral video shows two boys having an argument and a scuffle over caste issues. This matter escalated after a few people of a particular community liked and shared the video further, agitating the other community.

After the video came to the fore, on Monday, college students belonging to the two communities confronted each other. Then on Tuesday, a complaint was registered by one community against the other at the Badshahpur police station. A Panchayat was later organised with the help of elders, wherein it was decided that the issue will be resolved after a meeting of members from both communities.

On Wednesday around 1 pm, however, a group of people armed with lathis and country-made pistols vandalised several vehicles and pelted stones at houses in the Begumpur Khatola village.

"My children were playing outside when a group of men fired in air and vandalised our property. They even abused us. It was a terrifying moment as small children were present during the incident," said resident Savita Devi, who hid inside a toilet along with her children.

The police soon arrived at the spot and registered a case under Sections 307 (attempt to murder), 147 (rioting), 148 (rioting with deadly weapon), 427 (mischief), and section 25, 54, and 55 of the Arms Act against the unknown persons.

"We have registered an FIR on the behalf of the victims. Now, there are two FIRs, in which each group is accusing the other. We have arrested 6 people and will soon make more arrests," Badshahpur SHO Rajendra Kumar said.
