The Noida police has identified the driver of the Lamborghini, who was involved in a deadly car crash on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, on Tuesday. The crash which took place on Saturday resulted in the death of a 28-year-old man.

According to police sources, the driver has been identified as Vaibhav Singh. Singh's car was traced through CCTV footage obtained from the Expressway. Police officers said he did not stop after the accident and zoomed towards Delhi.

"We have interrogated the driver about the crash. He (Singh) said he was not at fault as the driver of the Swift Dzire tried to overtake his car and hit him. To avoid major impact, he too swerved left resulting in a collision with the Maruti Eeco van," said Devpal Singh Pundir, SHO of Expressway police station.

Police sources said Singh had been let off after interrogation.

According to a senior police officer, they will make further inquiries into the matter and seek details about the crash, which resulted in the death of the person, Asad Ahmed (28), who was at the wheels of the van.

Police said, the Lamborghini is owned by Italica Motors Private Limited in Delhi. However, the driver of the Lamborghini has not been found guilty. The victim's relatives had registered an FIR against the driver of the Swift Dzire only.

"The CCTV footage makes it clear that the driver of the Swift Dzire was at fault in taking a sudden left turn. The driver of the Lamborghini is not guilty. However, he is a party involved in the accident," said Arun Kumar Singh, SP City, Noida.

The accident took place around 2 pm on Saturday, when a Swift Dzire hit a Lamborghini while changing lanes abruptly near Sector 135 on the Expressway. The driver of the Lamborghini car swerved to his left trying to evade the Dzire. In the process, he hit a Maruti Eeco van, which was following him. The van driver lost control over the car which toppled several times before falling into a drain along the expressway. The Swift Dzire driver fled the spot and was later arrested from Khurja in Bulandshahr.
