Employee stabs elderly woman then kills himself at Govindpuri

An elderly woman in south Delhi's Govindpuri was allegedly stabbed by her employee at her store, the police said on Thursday. However, the 22-year-old identified as Rohit allegedly committed suicide soon after committing the act.

However, family members of the accused, who has allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself by a saree to the ceiling fan, was rather tortured by the police.

A PCR call was received at 11:51 pm on April 18 at Govindpuri police station informing that the caller's mother had been stabbed at her shop (No.90) in Amirchand Khand Giri Nagar Market.

Reshma Devi, Rohit's mother, a resident of Sangam Vihar said, "I had received a call from the employer's son asking why he had not reported on time for work. I went to check on him but could not find him. Later I was informed that he had stabbed the employer. I saw him coming and took him home and locked him inside. I could hear some noises and even asked cops to come quickly but by the time they came he had hung himself."

Chinmoy Biswal DCP (South east) said, "A case has been registered while inquest proceedings in the alleged suicide of Rohit are being conducted at the Sangam Vihar police station."
