Asha Singh of BJP was chosen as the Deputy Mayor.

Harsh Malhotra of BJP has been chosen new mayor of the East Delhi Municipal Corporation on Monday. He defeated Rekha Rani of Congress by a margin of 17 votes. A total of 64 votes were polled in the election, out of which, one was declared invalid. Harsh Malhotra bagged 40 votes while Rekha Rani got 23.
BJP MPs Maheish Giri and Manoj Tiwari also voted while AAP's three MLAs - Kapil Mishra, SK Bagga and Raju Dhingan and Rajya Sabha's MP Janardan Dwivedi did not turn up for voting. These MPs and MLAs are members of EDMC.
Asha Singh of BJP was chosen as the Deputy Mayor. She defeated Aas Mohammad by same margin. Varyam Kaur (Congress), Manoj Tyagi and Lata Gupta (both BJP) were chosen as members of standing committee.
