Dwarka: Mobile flashlights helped save three children stuck under debris

Since there was no electricity, the residents turned on the flashlights on their phone and started the rescue operation.

Mobile flashlights turned rescuers of the three children trapped under the debris their house in the Hari Nagar area.

According to neighbours, the power supply went off around midnight. After sometime they heard a loud noise. On stepping outside, they saw that the roof of the house had collapsed and heard the elder son cry. 

Since there was no electricity, the residents turned on the flashlights on their phone and started the rescue operation.

The house but it was locked from inside. Two boys climbed the door and broke the lock from inside. The scene inside was terrifying as the roof of one room house fell and all the five members were stuck under the debris.

"We used the flash lights of our mobile phones to clear the debris. It was very difficult for us to do that all in dark with those little light sources. We were able to pull out the children out of the rubble. After the police arrived with their big torches, the rescue operation gathered pace," said Rohit, a neighbour.

It was difficult for the people to clear the debris and look for the members in dark . After the power supply was restored, the wires were disconnected from the house so as to prevent any further mishap.

The first person to be rescued was the eldest son vaibhav, after him his younger brother Gulshan was taken out and at last their younger sister Gungun. They boys suffered minor injuries and the girl had a facture. The parents died on their way to the hospital.
