DU postpones schedule for UG admissions by four days

The first cut-off will now be released on June 24 instead of June 20

The Delhi University (DU) on Wednesday postponed the schedule for admission in various undergraduate (merit-based) courses by four days, a day after it closed the registration process.

The first cut-off will now be released on June 24 instead of June 20. And aspirants can now get their documents verified from June 24-28. The second cut-off will be announced on July 1, followed by third, fourth, and fifth on July 7, 13, and 18, respectively.

The DU concluded its registration for 60 undergraduates (merit-based) courses on Tuesday. Nearly 3.3 lakh students registered for admission, of whom 2.2 lakh managed to complete the process and make the payment. The number of applications received this year is nearly 30,000 less than last year's 2.5 lakh applications.

According to a statement released by the university, 157,690 men, 124,709 women, and 83 Others applied for this academic session. "As many as 12,520 students have applied under the sports quota, while 19,951 are looking to make a mark through extra-curricular activities," the statement read.

Around 134,847 applications of the total 320,262 were for BA (Prog), followed by English (H) (124,220), B Com (104,975), and Political Science (H) (9,549).

The University also kicked off the online registration for 72 postgraduate courses, including MPhil and PhD, on Monday. The registration will continue till June 22 and the entrance exams for these courses will be held between July 1 and 6.

Fourth Cut-off — July 13
Fifth Cut-off — July 18
