The Delhi University (DU) concluded admissions under the third cut-off list on Monday, with around 70 per cent seats filled across the varsity. Many seats in quite a few courses still remain available and almost all colleges, except the Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), are likely to release the fourth cut-off list on Tuesday.

Under the third cut-off list, several colleges closed admissions in most sought-after courses — BCom (H) was closed in 10 colleges, including SRCC, Hindu, and Lady Shri Ram. It is, however, expected to be available in Hansraj, Ramjas, and Daulat Ram in the fourth list.

Seats in Economics (H) are also likely to be available in colleges such as Daulat Ram, IP college for Women, and Kirori Mal College (KMC). "A lot of applications have been withdrawn after the third cut-off list was announced. That's why seats in several sought-after courses are still available in these colleges," a senior varsity official said.

English (H) was closed in at least five colleges, including Dyal Singh, Gargi, and Satyawati College. "Those looking for a seat in History (H) in the forthcoming list have a lesser chance of getting one as nearly 18 colleges gave shut admission for the course," the official said.

Similarly, as many as 14 colleges have closed admission for Political Science (H), 13 in BSc (Mathematics) and nine in BSc (Physics).

Meanwhile, SGTB Khalsa, which announced the highest cut-off in the first list and then witnessed the highest drop in the following lists, was also struggling to fill seats. "Around 50 per cent seats are lying vacant and in some courses, including BSc (Physical Science), only a few students have taken admission as of now," a senior official at the college said.

This year, DU received around 2.2 lakh applications for nearly 56,000 seats in its 63 colleges.
