According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Shiv Kumar (33), a resident of Uttar Pradesh's Baghpat district, succumbed to his injuries during treatment on Monday.
Two people died while one was injured in two separate accidents in the national capital on Sunday.
In the first incident, a 33-year-old Delhi Transport Corporation bus driver was crushed to death by a private bus after being struck between two buses in East Delhi's Anand Vihar bus depot on Monday morning.
According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Shiv Kumar (33), a resident of Uttar Pradesh's Baghpat district, succumbed to his injuries during treatment on Monday.
Police said that the incident took place at around 10:30 am on Sunday morning.
An eyewitness in the accident has lodged an FIR against the accused driver at Anand Vihar police station. Police have arrested the accused driver identified as 55-year-old Idris, a resident of Simbhavali village of UP's Hapur who was caught by the public and handed over to them.
Eyewitness conductor Sachin said the accident took place when we were about to leave the bus depot with passengers to Gurugram.
"The DTC bus was occupied with the passenger and we had left the bus depot nearly 50 meters. There was huge traffic jams outside the bus depot. Suddenly, the driver Shiv Kumar felt that the glasses set inside the window of driver side were not properly fitted and was creating noisy vibration sounds. Shiv came out from the bus to set the window properly," said Sachin.
He added that as he was correcting the alignment of the window of driver side, a speeding bus coming from back side overtook the DTC bus with brushing its body resulting which the driver Shiv was also crushed between two buses.
"His body was badly entangled between both buses and was pulled out and rushed to GTB hospital. Meanwhile, the public gave a chase and caught the driver," said a senior police officer.
Police have handed over the body to deceased family after autopsy and have seized the bus.
Meanwhile a 45 year old motorist and a pedestrian was mowed down by an unidentified vehicle in new Usmanpuri area. Police said that the deceased Kuldeep (45) was rushed to the hospital where he was declared brought dead and Raju (45) is said to be stable.
