According to the police, the victim has been identified as Laxman (55), who was having alcohol with his son, Kapil. After having a few drinks, the duo started having a conversation on some topic which led to an argument.
A 55-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death by his 28-year-old son after the duo got into a heated argument in an inebriated state at their residence in Outer Delhi's Sultanpuri area on Tuesday night. Police said the accused has been arrested and sent to jail.
Sources said that the duo would usually drink together at their house.
According to the police, the victim has been identified as Laxman (55), who was having alcohol with his son, Kapil. After having a few drinks, the duo started having a conversation on some topic which led to an argument.
"Within few minutes, the conversation turned into a heated argument and the son lost his cool. Kapil started thrashing his father mercilessly until the elderly man collapsed on the floor," said M N Tiwari, Additional Commissioner of Police (Outer).
Following the loud cries of Laxman for help, the other family members came out of their respective rooms and rushed him to the Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries while getting treatment. A case under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered at the Sultanpuri police station against Kapil.
"The family members nabbed Kapil and handed him over to us. After questioning the family members, the accused has been arrested. The father-son due was involved in a lot of disputes in the recent past but used to drink together," said Tiwari.
Police said Laxman worked as a whitewash labour while Kapil worked as a gas cylinder supplier.
