A quarrel over parking space turned violent after a 30-year-old man was stabbed behind his neck by his neighbour in North-West Delhi's Bharat Nagar area on Saturday night. While the victim claimed that the minor son of the accused neighbour was the one who stabbed him, the sister of the accused alleged that the man barged into their house and misbehaved. The police have registered cross-FIRs on the complaint of the accused's sister and the victim.

According to the police, the incident occurred around 10 pm. Raja Raheja (30), who resides on the ground floor, reached the house of his neighbour Harmeet Singh (45), who resides on the first floor, asking him to remove his car that was parked in front of the house. The duo first started arguing with each other after which Harmeet refused to move his car. When the argument got out of control, Harmeet went to the kitchen and picked up a knife and attacked him.

According to Raheja, Harmeet's minor son was the one who attacked him. Raheja told the police that Harmeet's sister and son were also involved in the incident. On the other hand, Harmeet's sister told the police that Raheja misbehaved with her and barged into the house without permission.

Based on Raheja's complaint, a case under section 324 ( voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means) was registered. On the complaint of the sister, a case under section 354 ( assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and trespass has been registered.

Investigations revealed that Harmeet was drunk during the time of the incident and attacked him in a fit of rage. Neighbours and locals said that on many occasions, Harmeet would pick up fights in the colony in an inebriated state. The police are verifying the allegations of both the parties.
