Drug syndicate mastermind nabbed, heroine worth Rs 7.5 lakh seized from him

So, while his family waited back home in Bihar, Sunil sunk deeper and deeper into heavy drug abuse. But all that changed on Tuesday when the mastermind of a drug syndicate, Munna, was arrested, and many, including Sunil, were sent to a drug de-addiction center.

Senior police officers said in all 18 people, including three minors, were sent to the drug de-addiction center.

The matter came to the fore when police received information from a few minors, drug addicts themselves, about the syndicate. They told the cops that the person responsible for the circulation of drugs would come to A Block in New Seema Puri area to supply heroine to some of his agents.

"A police team from the Seema Puri station acted on the information and apprehended a man, who was later identified as Munna, 24, a local. Also, 273.45g of heroine (smack), worth Rs 7.5 lakh, was recovered from his possession. After thorough interrogation, Munna disclosed that he operated a gang that distributed heroine. He told the police that he and his associates purchased heroine from Loni in Gaziabad and then supplied it in small packets to teenagers in various locations in and around the UP border area,"DCP, Shahadra, Nupur Prasad said.

Prasad further said Munna's associates were identified as Salman, Sonu, and Pampu. "Munna disclosed that his gang would sell 2,000 packets of heroine daily. Now, efforts are being made to nab the supplier and other associates," she added.
