Governance in the national capital has fallen victim to the mud-slinging between AAP's senior leaders. The saga that started after the MCD elections has the core leadership embroiled in allegations and counter-allegations. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has made things worse with the EVM blame-game after the five Assembly and MCD election results, a strategy that has drawn flak not just from political circles and the people, but even members of his own party, leading to a big chasm. Potholed roads, poor drainage, and waterlogged roads are problems which the party has been unable to tackle or solve. The problem has been made worse by the fact that most files for important projects are pending with the L-G for approval.

The result is that nothing is getting done. Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia is more focused on explaining how EVMs can be hacked than focusing on Delhi's problems. It's not just Sisodia. The entire Delhi cabinet is seemingly doing everything else but managing their ministries.

Non-performance may perhaps be excused but the Aam Aadmi Party has made things worse by the number of scandals that has hit the party. Ironically, Kejriwal recently sacked his water resources and tourism minister Kapil Mishra for "non-performance". The result: Mishra has been on a hunger strike, making damaging allegations against the CM and other AAP leaders. It's not just the 'Mishra factor', other AAP leaders too have been involved in a number of scandals that have dented the party's clean image. AAP needs an urgent course correction – blaming all their problems on EVMs won't help.
