Delhi: Woman shot dead while returning from gurdwara, fourth shooting incident in last 48 hours

A woman was shot dead in Delhi while returning from the gurdwara along with her husband and a year-old-child, on Wednesday morning.

A woman was shot dead in Delhi while returning from the gurdwara along with her husband and a year-old-child, on Wednesday morning.

The incident took place near Rohini Jail. This is a fourth such incident of shooting in last 48 hours.

Priya Mehra was shot twice by the suspects. Police said that she sustained bullet injuries on her neck and face.

Sources said that armed assailants initially tried to shoot her husband Pankaj Mehra and tried to stop their car, however, Priya got shot at.

The occupants of the Swift car fled away after shooting. A case is registered at PS Shalimar Bagh and investigation is underway.

"I was not able to pay the money back which I took on credit. The lenders use to threaten to give the money back," said Priya's husband Pankaj told police.

On Sunday, one person was killed in a shooting in the North-East Delhi. 

In last 24 hours, two men were shot dead allegedly by unidentified bike-borne men in new Usmanpur and Krishna Nagar area of Shahdara.
