The Delhi University (DU) released the fourth cut-off list for admissions in undergraduate courses on Thursday with very few options left for aspirants seeking admissions under the general category in many of the sought-after colleges. However, several popular colleges including Lady Shri Ram were yet to release the fourth cut-off list by the time this report was filed.

For instance, Sri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) has closed admissions to both BCom (Hons) and Economics (Hons) in the fourth list for general category and some reserved categories as well. Hindu College has also closed admissions to all the popular courses including History (Hons), Political Science (Hons), Sociology (Hons) and Philosophy (Hons) for general category. However, admissions are still open to Economics (Hons) at Hindu with a cut-off of 97.25 per cent.

Similarly, there will be no intake in Bcom (Hons) and BCom (Prog) courses in Ramjas College under the fourth list. At Jesus and Merry College, admissions are closed in BA (Prog), Economics (Hons), English (Hons), Political Science (Hons) and Mathematics (Hons).

While most of the courses are closed at Gargi College now, aspirants can still try their luck in eight courses including BA (Prog), BA applied Psychology, English (Hons) and Political Science (Hons) for which the required cut-offs are 91 per cent, 96.5 per cent, 94 per cent and 93.5 per cent, respectively. Besides, admissions are also open to BCom (Hons), BSc Botany and BSc Life Sciences.

Admissions under the fourth list will be done till Monday and the fifth cut-off list will be announced on Wednesday evening.

Around 60 per cent of the total 56,000-odd undergraduate seats have already been filled across DU under the first three lists. The university had to extend the time for admissions under the third list by one day because of a severe technical glitche in its online admission portal. The problem had occurred due to some "cable theft", officials had said.
