Two Asian palm civets were rescued by a Wildlife SOS team from a building in Green Park on Tuesday.

The tenants living on the third floor of the building had been hearing strange shuffling noise for a month and later on discovered that two civets were residing in a shaft above the false ceiling. The family members reported the matter to Wildlife SOS and the civets were rescued by their team.

The civets have been kept under observation and will be released back to their habitat once they are in normal condition.

The Wildlife SOS team has realised that the young civet babies were trying to find their mother who was already rescued a week before from the same house. "The civet had probably given birth in the shaft and had been living there with her babies for months. A female Asian palm civet usually gives birth up to four kittens after a gestation period that lasts for about two months," said Kartick Satyanarayan, Co-founder and CEO of Wildlife SOS.
