All the six men accused of allegedly lynching a 16-year-old boy in Mukundpur have been arrested, the police said late on Wednesday night. The two arrested on Tuesday were identified as Rajkumar and Nand Kishor and both confessed to having tied the boy up and thrashing him with wooden sticks until he died, the police said.

According to the post-mortem examination report, there were more than 25 external injuries apart from internal wounds, and hemorrhagic shock led to death.

The police also said that the accused said that the victim was accompanied by two more people who had come to commit a theft at their house, however, they managed to flee. Surveillance has been mounted to trace the two, too.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northwest) Aslam Khan confirmed that the two men who have been arrested, revealed that they had tied him up and thrashed him with two wooden sticks. The victim’s family had suspected that he was tied and beaten up going by the injury marks on his hands.

“We had recovered the sticks from the spot which were used to beat the boy,” the DCP said.

The victim was wearing a white-coloured vest, which his elder brother Mushahid alleged was not his. “The accused have changed my brother’s clothes. They tried to dress up the crime scene,” Mushahid had said on Tuesday.

Khan said Rajkumar and Kishor have both refused claims that they changed the victim’s clothes.

The police on Wednesday recreated the crime scene going by the accused’s confessions. Khan said that raids are being conducted at possible hideouts to nab the other four. “The accused have switched off their mobile phones. We have mounted technical surveillance and soon as their location is spotted, they will be arrested. A number of people and the accused’s relatives in Delhi have been questioned to get clues to locate them,” the officer said.

The police also said that the boy had sustained injuries on his legs.

According to the police, the incident took place around 3.30 am, however, the PCR call was made at 6.30 am. “We are questioning them to establish what exactly happened between 3.30 am to 6.30 am,” the DCP said.

The police had also registered a case of attempt to theft and trespassing against the dead boy as the accused had alleged that they had caught him stealing from their house.

Mushahid, a plumber, on Wednesday again requested to the police to arrest the absconding men and bring justice to his younger brother.
