In a try to motivate citizens of Delhi to use more cycles, the second edition of Saksham Pedal Delhi is set to be flagged off on Sunday. The event would see various athletes and general public compete in a Cyclothon, where the winner would be awarded prize money of rupees ten lakhs.

The Cyclothon will start and end at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. The participants would cycle up to Rajpath and the first one to reach back at the Stadium will be awarded prize money of 10 lakh rupees.

The event which was also organised last year has been aiming to motivate people to leave fuel based mode of transportation and opt for a healthy and eco-friendly way to commute. The initiative by the Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) has been supported by the oil and gas companies.

"I lost kgs since I started cycling. I have realized that there is no better way to be fit and eco-friendly of commuting, and I would ask every citizen to join the event", said Mr Sumeet Yadav, Group CEO, DO IT, which has been supporting the initiative.

The organisers have roped in Bollywood actress Disha Patani to participate in the event to be held on Sunday.
