Delhi: Three arrested for thrashing cop in Dwarka area

Both the accused identified as Jitender, 24 and Ganesh Chawan, 53, father of Jitender were arrested from Bharat Vihar Dwarka.

An assistant sub-inspector of Delhi Police was allegedly beaten in a suspected case of road rage in Dwarka district's Baba Haridas Nagar on Sunday evening. Police have arrested three accused in connection with the case.

Both the accused identified as Jitender, 24 and Ganesh Chawan, 53, father of Jitender were arrested from Bharat Vihar Dwarka.

According to the information, ASI Kishan Lal (47) who was posted with Baba Haridas Nagar police station was waiting for his kids near Dwarka sector 14 metro station when a cab rammed into his car. When he got out of his car and went to confront the driver he found that the driver of the offending vehicle along with one of his associate were consuming liquor.

Kishan Lal then made a PCR call and tried to nab the duo but in the meantime, the accused called their associates, who started thrashing the ASI.

The PCR van reached the spot and tried controlling the situation but till then Kishan sustained severe injuries.

The injured ASI was rushed to the nearby hospital where the doctors declared later that he is out of danger.

Police have registered a case under appropriate sections and taking strict action in the case the police have arrested all the three accused and further investigating on the case is on, said the police.
