Interview of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Kumar Vishwas with dna’s Mayank Aggarwal

Q. How do you see the results?

A. Counting is still on and final tally is yet to come but none the less it is a historic and grand debut for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). People have shown that elections can be fought transparently. Delhi has shown India the way.

 Q. You were among select few who did not fight the elections inspite of so much oressure from volutneers and public to do so?

A. Everyone in the party was doing their own bit. Some were handling backroom while others like me were interacting with public. Not fighting the election was a conscious decision as I had decided to only focus on reaching out to public as it was not possible for Arvind (Kejriwal) alone to be present everywhere. I addressed over 103 public rallies and meetings and was doing roadshow for hundreds of kilometres. Everyone has to play a part to become successful.

(Besides Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia, Kumar Vishwas is one of the most known and popular face of the party)

Q. Are you satisfied with party’s performance?

A. It could have been much better. What happened in the last 72 hours before the voting affected our performance. But it is still a great performance.

Q. Will AAP ally with BJP or Congress ?

A. No way. AAP has clarified from day one that it will not ally with BJP or Congress. We are hewre to change political system. We won’t change our stand. Our goal is clear and we are determined to carry on that path.

Q, What is the main reason behind the stellar performance?

A. People of india are tired with this dishonest politics and that is the main reason behind this result. I also want to commend our thousands of volunteers who worked day and night to make this possible.
