The Delhi Police on Wednesday decided to provide security cover to former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Kapil Mishra, who had said that he was getting death threats. Mishra had recently rocked the Capital with allegations of corruption against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, which prompted his sacking from the post of minister as well as from AAP.

A security analysis was done by the Special Cell, which then deployed two police personnel from the security unit to accompany Mishra round the clock. Apart from this, five others will guard his home in north Delhi's Civil Lines area. The Delhi Police will review his security arrangement in due course of time.

Mishra, meanwhile, said he had not demanded security but some review was done and officers were deployed outside his home.

The former minister had also submitted three complaints with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) against Kejriwal and other party leaders, related to charges of bribery and irregularities by the CM and others in the Delhi government. He also provided "evidence" to the Anti-Corruption Branch, accusing Kejriwal of shielding his predecessor, Sheila Dikshit, in the Rs 400-crore water tanker scam.
