In order to deal with case properties which are seized by the police in a more professional cum digital manner,  the Delhi Police on Wednesday inaugurated the e-malkhana system in the West District at the Punjabi Bagh Police Station.

The west district is the fourth district, among the 14 in the Delhi Police, to have digitised malkhanas. The digitisation of the case properties, the bar-coding, packaging in boxes, arrangement in order in proper shelves marks a leap for the Delhi Police towards achievement of the objective of  smart policing as well as the Swachh Bharat mission. The West district has digitised all the 12 police stations in the district.

The digitised bar-coding has made it easier for officers to search for a case property rather than hunt in a pile.

Proper arranging of case properties will lead to cleaning and clearing of police station premises and also creating more space in the station premises. Commissioner of Police inaugurated the e-malkhana and also released a hand-book on the subject for the awareness of the police officers.

Monika Bhardwaj, Deputy Commissioner of Police, West District stated that there are two new initiatives in digitalization of Malkhanas of the West District.

“As a new initiative, even the Malkhana having Government Property has been digitalized for the first time in Delhi Police. Data of all the records of government properties, details to whom the property has been issued are digitally maintained,” said Bhardwaj.
