People, including political leaders, took on the social media to remind the nation of the horrific Nirbhaya incident. "It's the 6th anniversary of #Nirbhaya, the horrific incident that shook the entire nation is still impending #justice. Let's not rest till we attain that and cleanse our country from #ViolenceAgainstWomen." tweeted Ranjana Kumari-led CSR India. Many other people including the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal took to Twitter and remembered that dark night that is still fresh in the memories of many.

"Six years ago, on this day, one of the most brutal and worst crime was committed in the history of Delhi. The only way to keep the brave Nirbhaya alive in our minds is to ensure a strong struggle for women safety despite all hurdles in our way," said Arvind Kejriwal.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee urged people to make the country a better place for women.

"The incident shook the country. As a society, we must make this country a better place for women. Say no to violence against women," she tweeted.
