Nearly 10 days after nursery admission in private schools started across the national Capital, several schools have still not updated their criteria on the Directorate of Education's (DoE) website, leaving parents confused.
In a bid to make the admission procedure transparent, the DoE had directed all schools to upload their criteria and points for nursery admission on their websites by December 27. As many as 200 out of 1,700 private unaided recognised schools are, however, yet to follow the instruction.
Schools, such as Dwarka-based Adarsh World School and Sam International School and the St Thomas School in Mandir Marg, have not uploaded the criteria yet. "We are getting a lot of queries about these schools from parents residing nearby as they have not uploaded the admission criteria yet," said Sumit Vohra, founder of the admissionsnursery.com.
"Some parents have even complained that the Adarsh school asked them to personally visit the campus for details," he said. Despite several attempts, the school officials could not be reached for comments.
DoE officials said the schools that have not uploaded their criteria yet will be issued show cause notices shortly.
The admission process in entry-level classes kicked off on December 27. The last date to submit application forms in schools is January 17 and the first list will be released on February 1.
