According to police, on January 10, the boy was admitted into a hospital with severe injuries in his head and other parts of the body.

A five-year-old boy succumbed to his injuries on Saturday, after allegedly being thrashed by his stepfather for not being able to complete his home work in South-west Delhi’s Kapashera area. Police have arrested the stepfather and also the mother of the deceased.
According to police, on January 10, the boy was admitted into a hospital with severe injuries in his head and other parts of the body.
To protect the accused, the mother Rani Devi reportedly said that the child fell down in the bathroom after eating contaminated food. However, according to the medical records, the child had multiple injuries and the cause of his death was head injury.
Following this, a complaint was registered by the father of the boy at Kapashera police station. During interrogation, the accused Narendra confessed to beating the child. “ that he got frustrated with the boy when he was helping him with his homework, as he was unable to complete his school work, however, we are not satisfied with his statements. We are still investigating the matter,” said Devender Arya, DCP.
