Delhi Metro comes with eco-message

In their bid to promote environment friendly Diwali, Delhi Metro on Thursday initiated a special train to inspire the citydwellers.

According to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation officials, while the train has been the decorated with slogans and greetings of Diwali, it will operate on violate line from ITO to Escorts Mujesar.

"The train's exteriors have been decorated to promote importance of cleanliness in the true spirit of 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' to inspire public especially, the youth. The exterior of this six coach train has been exclusively
decorated in colorful theme of nature, spirit of festivity along with display of prize winning slogans on swachhta," said a DMRC official. Delhi Metro at present carries around 30 lakh passengers with a daily average with a network of 213 kilometer and 160 Metro stations. "Such an initiative has the potential to spread the message on

importance of cleanliness and inspire everyone to contribute in the Swachh Bahrat Abhiyan, by keeping their surroundings clean and staying away from damaging the environment," said a DMRC official.
