Delhi: Man bleeds while cops, people look on

According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Akash, who worked at a canteen in ITO.

An appalling video of a 25-year-old man, who was bleeding profusely on the road after being hit by a speeding car on Ferozshah Road, Delhi, during night hours on July 11 has gone viral. In the video, it can be seen that instead of helping the victim, the passersby stood there and not even the on-duty police officers bothered to take him to a hospital.

According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Akash, who worked at a canteen in ITO. He was hit by a speeding Swift car and dragged for over 20 metres by the car. The driver of the car, Bhawani Singh, tried to flee from the accident spot, but was nabbed. Akash was heading back home and while crossing the road he was hit by the car.

In the video, Akash is bleeding profusely while the car that hit him can be seen at the barricade in front of Max Mueller building. The video also shows that some policemen were standing for patrolling at the barricade and Akash was removed from under the car.

Family members of the deceased have alleged that even though people and police were present, no one came forward to take their son to the hospital on time.
