Delhi: Judo gold medallist Sonu Sharma held for stalking

A 27-year-old national gold medallist in Judo, has been arrest for allegedly stalking and sending obscene images to various girls, through social networking sites. The accused had allegedly used about 10 fake facebook ids and even procured a SIM card using a fake identity proof.

The accused Sonu Sharma who had been gold medallist in Judo in Junior National, twice in School National and once in Federation Cup at National Level, allegedly stalked women and girls with over 10 fake Facebook ids, moreover Sonu even forwarded them obscene pictures and abusive messages.

He was arrested after a girl had filed a complaint with a police station in North Delhi, where she alleged that Sonu has been continuously stalking him and even sending obscene images.

"After a brief investigation it was found that accused has procured the SIM used in crime through a fake id, however after some efforts we were able track his location and a raid was conducted to arrest him," said Harendra Singh, Additional deputy commissioner of police, North.

However after his phone was checked it was found that the accused has been using 10 facebook ids all registered with fake name and details, through which various women were targeted.

The accused who earlier even ran private yoga sessions has been taken into arrest and further investigation is under way.
