The Delhi Police have arrested a 32-year-old man accused in many cases of murder, dacoity and Arms Act. The accused, identified as Shanu (32), had been absconding since four years after his neighbour had registered a case against him in the Govindpuri Police Station. The police have recovered a country-made pistol along with two cartridges from his possession.

It was in the year 2015 that Shanu's neighbour registered a complaint against him under Indian Penal Code 324, which refers to voluntarily causing hurt to someone with a weapon or an object. However, ever since the case was filed, Shanu was on the run.

But, the South-East District Police's drive to nab Shanu materialised after they received a tip-off. During interrogation, Shanu confessed to his crimes. A school dropout, Shanu had been threatening people in a quest to earn a name in the criminal world.

However, during these four years, he worked with a contractor as a laborer in Chennai. He later left with his wife for Muzaffar Nagar to stay with his In-laws. Thinking that the case against him might have been closed, Shanu returned home with high hopes.
