The Delhi High Court will hear an appeal by businessman Mehul Choksi, uncle of Nirav Modi, seeking to quash an FIR filed against him by some engineers from Rajasthan. The appeal was filed last year in August against the order of the trial court of 2016.

The trial court's order had come on the complaint by the engineers from Rajasthan Institute of Engineering and Technology who had alleged that Choksi had cheated them of Rs 1.5 crore by giving them old and low-quality diamonds.

On the last date of hearing, i.e, December 2017, Justice Mukta Gupta was informed that an amicable settlement is underway among the parties. Following this, the court had directed that a report be submitted in this regard.

The report would specify whether the settlement has taken place or not.

Choksi came into the news after his alleged involvement in the Rs 11,500 crore bank fraud on the complaint of the Punjab National Bank (PNB).
