Delhi: GRP arrests three, detain a juvenile for killing youth

The railway police group of Delhi police arrested three men and apprehended a juvenile in connection with the murder mystery of a 19-year-old youth who was found in two pieces at railway track near Shahdara's Vivek Vihar area in October on Friday morning. The deceased had come to Delhi for a job interview.

According to the police, the accused have been identified as Pardeep of Jhilmil (20) Akash (24), a resident of Shahdara, Deepu Kumar (22), a resident of Rajeev Camp. 

On September 16, we received a call from milkman who was passing by Vivek Vihar railway station, spotted the man’s disremembered body. 

"Initially it looked like a train accident but when the body was sent for post mortem, it was clear that the deceased had stab injuries. A murder case was registered and investigation was taken up," said Deputy commissioner of police (railways) Dinesh Kumar Gupta 

During investigation, the man was identified as Samad, a resident of Meerut, UP. It further came to light that the man had come to Delhi for a job interview. 

"We contact the deceased's family and it came to light that Samad had called his sister and informed her that his valuables have been snatched. Over 50 suspects and probable witnesses, we got information about a suspect, Deepu. A raid was conducted and Deepu (22) was arrested from near Shahadara," said Gupta 

During interrogation, Deepu revealed that on September 16, he along with one of his juvenile friend and two others Akash and Pardeep (20), had snatched the mobile phone and valuables of Samad from the moving train near Vivek Vihar railway station.

"On Deepu’s instance, the juvenile was apprehended and the two men Akash and Pradeep were also arrested. During interrogation, the accused revealed that after snatching Samad’s articles, when they were drinking alcohol near platform number two of Vivek Vihar stations, he arrived there and asked them to give back his valuables," said Gupta.

Police said that a fight broke out between them during which the juvenile member of their group slashed Samad’s throat with a machete and also stabbed him on his thigh. As Samad died bleeding, they left his body on the tracks and fled the crime scene.
