Police says that the accused were arrested with help of the sketches and descriptions given by the eyewitnesses

Two people have been arrested in the murder case of 34-year-old Sushil Chauhan who was killed in an incident of road rage following an altercation over collission of their vehicles, in Geeta colony area on Thursday night. Police said that the accused were arrested with help of the sketches and descriptions given by the eyewitnesses.

According to the police, the accused have been identified as Aftab (32) and Ramesh (33), both residents of Geeta Colony, who had also attacked a man with a knife in Shakarpur and robbed him off his bag minutes before getting into an altercation with the victim.

"On Monday night, we received a call at around 11: 37 pm regarding a gunshot injury and he was rushed to to LNJP Hospital where he was declared brought dead. During investigation, it was revealed that the deceased along with his friends had gone to have dinner at Krishna Nagar and while coming back a two-wheeler hit their car," said Meghna Yadav, Deputy Commissioner of Police(Shahdara).

Chauhan came out of the car and an argument took place between them. During the argument, the eye witness stated that the scooty rider had a weapon, while another person with a knife also came at the spot on a motorcycle and attacked him.

Area in the area, a man was robbed of his bag and attacked with a knife," said Yadav.

Police said that the both the complainants were thoroughly examined to get the description of the assailants.

"While the discription and sketches in both the cases matched and it was suspected that local criminals could be involved in those incidents. Over 40 criminals of the area were checked. After checking the CCTV footage and analysing the call detail records, the two were arrested," said Yadav.

During interrogation, the accused revealed that after snatching the bag in Shakarpur, they were in a rush to escape and during the course their vehicle collided with Chauhan's car near Geeta Colony flyover. The two parties were unknown to each other.

Police said that the third accused has been identified but on a run and teams have been formed to nab him.
