In a shocking incident, a UPSC aspirant committed suicide after he was denied entry in the examination hall located in Delhi’s Rajender Nagar.

According to The Indian Express report, the victim has been identified as one Varun.

The 28-year-old, who was from Karnataka, was staying in the central Delhi area for past one year.

The Delhi Police has recovered a suicide note, in which Varun reportedly wrote “… rules are okay but sometimes it should be relaxed for a better cause.”

The police said Varun’s body was discovered by his female friend on Sunday. ‘On failing to get any response from inside, she informed the neighbours. They broke the door open and informed the police at about 5 pm,’ a police officer was quoted as saying by The Indian Express. 

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducted the civil services preliminary exam or UPSC Prelims 2018 on Sunday, June 3. Over three lakh candidates appeared for the exam. Candidates who appeared for UPSC Prelims 2018 exam reportedly claim that the questions in the paper were surprisingly different this time. Many students thought that the paper was a “bit difficult”.

According to the report, students found the paper difficult in some areas; the pattern of the paper was the same as previous years’, however, there were some surprising elements in UPSC Prelims 2018 exam. Reportedly, questions were focused on areas that were not asked about, in UPSC’ earlier exams; such areas include Lok Sabha, National Sample Survey Organisation. Questions on these areas had not been asked before, students told a leading daily.

It is being suggested that the cut-offs this year might drop by few points, keeping in mind the difficulty level of the UPSC Prelims exam 2018. The students had to give two papers for UPSC Prelims 2018 exam. The first paper was held from 9:30 am to 11:30 am while another, began at 2:30 pm, across UPSC’s various centres all over the country.
