Newly elected legislator and former Delhi Cabinet Minister, Rakhi Birla, in conversation with iamin, said that AAP government in Delhi will have a woman cabinet minister soon. Journalist-turned-politician, Birla shared that right now AAP's priority is to concentrate on governance.

What is your agenda for your constituency for next 100 days?

My first priority is to provide ration to every poor person in my constituency and also get ration card issued to those who do not already have it. Moreover, cleanliness, development, women's security are also on my agenda.

Like all other parties, AAP also fought Delhi elections majorly on women issues but there is no female face in Kejriwal's Cabinet.

It's a party decision. It is the Chief Minister's call to decide his cabinet members. May be Kejriwal wants the women MLAs to first learn and then earn a position in the cabinet. But, in the coming days, we might see a woman minister. Even if a woman doesn't get Cabinet rank, it doesn't mean that Kejriwal is not concerned about women.

Why is AAP maintaining distance from media? What is your personal take on the issue?

In Aam Aadmi Party, all the leaders know when to speak with media and when to keep mum. Presently, AAP government is only committed towards working for the people of Delhi. Media should understand that and give us some time.

Policing has been a major issue in your constituency. Mangolpuri often comes in news for criminal activities. Since, police does not come under the purview of the Delhi government, does it hamper your work?

I have been the MLA of the constituency since last one year and I have never faced any problem regarding policing. In fact, the crime graph has also come down in Mangolpuri. Be it Delhi Police, PWD or DDA, I get full support of all departments.
