The Delhi wing of Bharatiya Janata Party piggybacked on Connaught Place having turned into wi-fi zone on Monday to again criticise Aam Aadmi Party government. Home Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated the facility at Charkha Park on Monday.

The local BJP lashed out at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for being "lazy and inactive" towards developing Delhi, taking the new facility which has been initiated as part of 'smart city' projects, as a cue.

Lauding the central government of BJP, the local unit advised the CM to learn from the Centre about development. "Kejriwal kept on making false promises to people of Delhi while the BJP government heeded to the demands of Delhiites and gave them free wifi in the heart of the city," the party tweeted on Tuesday. The party further lambasted AAP chieftain for making excuses to cover up his failures in working towards the benefit of Delhi. "CP has also been equipped with 360-degree CCTVs. The government should wake up at least now and start working instead of making excuses," the party maintained.

Singh also inaugurated few other initiatives including smart poles, solar tree, ideation centre, 50 LED interactive screens, Ambedkar Vatika, two hi-tech nurseries, four mechanical road sweepers, two litter picking machines and 10 auto tippers. The BJP leader also released a coffee table book on the green initiatives undertaken by the New Delhi Municipal Corporation titled "Green and Colourful NDMC — A Transformational Journey", on the occasion.

Meanwhile, Delhi BJP leaders also reacted sharply to the charge sheet filed against CM Arvind Kejriwal, his deputy Manish Sisodia and 11 other MLAs for allegedly assaulting chief secretary Anshu Prakash. The leader of opposition Vijender Gupta demanded Kejriwal to step out as CM owning moral responsibility.

He said that the CM has lost all moral right to remain in the seat, and he must quit the post with immediate effect. The BJP leader also made a similar demand for Sisodia and other legislators named in the charge sheet. Delhi MP Parvesh Sahib Singh criticised the AAP government as a government of "goons".
