The Delhi BJP has accused the ruling Aam Aadmi Party government and the Congress for the 'sealing mess' in a press conference held in the national capital on Friday. Senior party leaders including Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari, Vijender Gupta, Lok Sabha MP Meenakshi Lekhi criticised both the parties for their failure to address the sealing issue.

Tiwari said that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was misleading the people of Delhi and playing the emotion card instead of tackling the issue practically. Referring to the apology furnished by the CM to former Punjab minister Bikram Singh Majithia, he further said that with this gesture, Kejriwal has publicly confessed to being a liar. "It is high time the CM takes note of the sealing drives in Delhi and apologises to the residents for putting them through such inconvenience," the BJP leader said.

Meanwhile, Gupta trained his guns at Kejriwal for finger pointing and "lip service" instead of taking relevant and necessary steps to address the issue. Casting aspersions at the politicking of Kejirwal, he advised him to "stop creating hulabaloo" over sealing and take preventive measures. "Why has the AAP government not sought the intervention of the Supreme Court yet? Why has the Delhi government failed to notify the 351 roads when even the Lieutenant Governor gave his go ahead more than a month ago? Why is the ruling state government shying away from meeting the monitoring committees? All these points put the CM in a shadow of doubt about his intentions towards the city and its people," he said. "His only purpose is to indulge in cheap politics and target the Opposition," Gupta said.

The BJP said it was willing to support the AAP in the pre-emptive steps it plans to take to stop the sealing drive. The leaders also said that they wanted to accompany the CM to meet the monitoring committee but "he seems to be interested in meeting the members alone". "We will also call out these SC-appointed committees for going outside the ambit of law in order to harass the traders. If the CM has pointed out loopholes in the Master Plan 2021, he must submit them to the Centre so that amendments can be made. He is simply complicating the matter," Gupta said.
