Delhi: 269 students caught during campaign to check driving by minors

Delhi Traffic Police on Friday conducted a special drive outside schools to check minors from driving during which 269 students were prosecuted.

In order to inculcate a traffic sense among children, the force has also written a letter to schools and also to the education department to nominate a teacher as road safety coordinator in every institution.

"Today a drive was conducted outside schools to prosecute minor students driving motor vehicles. Total 269 students have been prosecuted today. We have written to all schools in Delhi to nominate a teacher as road safety coordinator. Same letter has been written to education department of Delhi government also," said Special Commissioner (Traffic) Muktesh Chander.

We hope to inculcate road safety culture among children and send the same message to their families through them. CBSE is also contemplating to incorporate road safety as a subject in their syllabus, he said.
