In a bid to promote various sports, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has come up with incentive schemes for students at its sports complexes. This would mean that city school students will now be able to use the sports facilities at nominal rates.

The DDA has 15 sports complexes and two golf courses.

"Students can avail of the facility by just showing their identity cards. They can use the facilities such as swimming pools, tennis, basket ball etc at one-third of the actual fee," said a senior DDA official.

The timings to use the complex facilities will be between 10 am and 4 pm.

According to officials, students who have excelled in sports representing state or national levels can use the facilities free of cost under the Sports Excellence Quota.

"Desirous students should apply to the Secretary of the Sports Complex along with the certificates of participation and awards to avail the facility," the official said.

Also, there is a 10 percent EWS Quota for free sports coaching at all the complexes.

Students may also benefit by joining coaching and training camps at DDA sports complexes during the summer vacations.

"Proficient sports persons can be considered for coaching and scholarship as well. However, with due approval of the vice-chairman," said the official.

Schools in the vicinity too could book the complexes for organising sports events.
