A woman has lodged an FIR alleging that her husband was beaten to death by the daughter and her boyfriend in Noida on Sunday. The daughter has been arrested while her paramour is absconding, police said.
According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Vishwanath Sahu, who had found his daughter Pooja (21) and her boyfriend Dharmendra (24) in a compromising position at his rented apartment on Sunday morning in Atta village of Sector 27, Noida.
“My husband and I were sleeping in our room when all of a sudden we heard some noise from our daughter’s room. It was around 4 am when my husband woke up to see what was happening and went to Pooja’s room. As soon as he opened the room, he found Pooja with a boy in a compromising position,” said Gayatri Sahu, the deceased’s wife.
Police said on finding them in such a situation, Vishwanath started scolding them.
Outraged over being scolded, Pooja and Dharmendra started thrashing Vishwanath and all of a sudden, he fell off the stairs and received head injuries.
“To escape, Dharmendra pushed my husband and he fell down from the stairs and the boy fled from the spot,” Gayatri added. Police said Vishwanath was rushed to the government hospital in Noida in critical condition.
“He was bleeding from the head and had several injuries on his body. After treating him, we referred him to a Delhi hospital,” said a senior hospital official in Sector 30, Noida.
Police said he died at around 2:30 am on Monday morning while getting treatment and on the basis of his wife’s complaint an FIR has been registered.
“On the basis of a complaint by Gayatri, Vishwanath’s wife, a case under Section 304a (Causing death by negligence) was registered against Pooja and Dharmendra. Pooja has been arrested while her boyfriend is absconding. We are further investigating the matter,” said Anil Kumar Shai, Station House Officer Sector 20, police stated.
The deceased hails from Jila Basti and was working at a private firm.
